Right before you head into a Starbucks today with your reusable cup, don’t get offended or upset if your barista won’t be able to use it for your drink.

Starbucks has announced that they will be temporarily be putting a ban on the use of reusable cups in its stores because of the whole situation regarding COVID-19 aka Coronavirus.

According to a statement from Starbucks U.S/Canada Operations President, Rossann Williams, many stores have increased cleaning and sanitizing and have also taken guidance from the CDC and local health authorities.

If you do bring your personal cup in its stores, you’ll still be able to get the reusable cup discount on your order (10 cents off).

No news yet on when the company plans on lifting the ban, but hopefully they will once the whole virus thing settles down.

We’re glad that Starbucks is taking the extra steps and being extra cautious while we can still enjoy our favorite drinks!
