Schools Will Have Later Start Times In The Morning Thanks To New California Law

There’s a new rule that school kids might enjoy.

On Sunday, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new bill that will allow school days to start later.

The new law would require schools in California to begin classes no earlier than 8:30 a.m.

Newsom mentioned that, “later start times will improve academic performance by allowing students to get more sleep.”

Now, the kids may be excited for this, but a few parents aren’t too happy about the new time change since it may affect their regular schedule and work may not be accommodating.

Even though the new law has been passed, it won’t go into effect until the 2022/2023 school year.
