Milpitas and San Jose BART Stations Might Miss Projected 2019 Opening
If you’ve been looking forward to the opening of two South Bay BART stations, looks like you are going to have to wait EVEN LONGER to ride the BART trains in Milpitas and Berryessa.
BART’S general manager Robert Powers shared this week that the 2019 opening will most likely miss the target opening date which was set for December 2019.
Powers mentioned that BART engineers still have three months to conduct “pre-revenue testing.”
“BART has assigned its very best engineers out in the field right now on the testing. We are working just as hard as we can work, and I guarantee you I will open that system as quickly as we can open the system that is safe and reliable.”
According to The Mercury News, Powers declined to share when he thinks the new stations will open.
“I wouldn’t put a date on it.”
Guess those who live in the Milpitas and Berryessa areas will have to wait a little longer to have BART up and running in their neighborhoods.
