This is such an inspiring story! During last week’s Polar Vortex, Chicago saw dangerously cold temperatures. As you can imagine, the brutally cold temperatures can be deadly for homeless people. That is why Candice Payne felt the need to help. Using a combination of her own money and money raised from the community, she purchased hotel rooms for more than 100 homeless people in Chicago! Ellen was so inspired by the act of kindness that she teamed up with Walmart to award Candice with $50,000! Here’s the best part: Candice plans on using the money to start her own non-profit to help the homeless. So inspiring!
